    Headrest removal

I'm working on a '74 B.  The headrests need some attention.  The plastic bit on the bottom side of the headrest (where the headrest meets the seat when pushed down) is coming lose.

Now I know from my '72 Midget that there is a spring loaded keeper or catch that pops out from the shaft the headrest rides on that keeps it from coming out of the seat back.  Does any one know of any clever tricks to defeat this catch?  On my Midget I had to resort to loosening and I think even taking off the seat back cover to get to the catch to push it in whilst withdrawing the headrest from the seat back.

I'm looking for a simpler way!
