    Tr4A transmission

I can not reassemble the selector box shafts after replacing "O" rings because I can not reinstall the first  interlock metal balls between selector shafts.

There is only one access hole  to push the interlock ball against 1st/2nd selector, but it is at the opposite end of the casting, by the reverse shaft location.  The instruction manual says to replace the 3rd ( center ) selector shaft first  but then the  ball between 3rd and 1st/2nd adjacent shaft  can not be fitted . If I fit the 1st/2nd shaft first then I can install the ball, but then the 3rd selector shaft can not be fitted...the two shafts have an interference.  It is not possible to insert or remove  the 3rd shaft selector if the 1st/2nd or the reverse  selector shafts are in place.

This  was assembled at one time so what am I doing wrong or not doing?  Any comment will be appreciated.

Just got back to this forum. My apologies for not responding how I solved the problem , and worse yet, I can not recall how I did the work w/o the transmission at hand.  And something worse happened, the new Moss O rings did not seem to be the correct size at the time but I still used them.  That was a mistake,  the trasmission  still leaks from these O rings.
