    I had nothing  but trouble with the dimming switch so I disconected all the wires, wired them all together now I have bright lights to all.  The switch is useless so I took it out and put the manual  choke to the Weber in it;s place. Now all works fine. Just a suggestion.

    Thank you everybody.

    I just removed rehostat, connecting directly the cables. Dash  instruments illumination improved, but nothing spectacular. I will leave as its is. Reinstalled the rehostat, just for the looks of it.

     I guess the old wiring and poor earthing ,developed along the yars is the culprit. But the car runs fine.
