    Re: Moss supercharger kit

    Hello Mike,

I'm sorry to say there are no current plans to develop a supercharger kit for the 1500. I have seen a supercharger kit on a Spitfire, although I'm not sure which generation engine it had. You might poke around the web and see if you can find the kit. Although designed for a Spit body, there's always an outside chance it could be adapted to the MG body.

    Cheers,

    Robert

    Re: Moss supercharger kit

So that everybody is clear, lower compression is better for a supercharger because it allows MORE air into the chamber during the intake stage, thus compressing MORE gas and air during compression and ignition. Having a high compression ratio reduces the amount of gas/air mixture during intake and also can (does) cause pre-detonation (or dieseling) during the compression stroke because now all that heat and gas is being compressed beyond the explosion temerature of the gas. You should use the dish-shaped forged pistons running about 8 to 8.5 c/r.
