If you ran 3 webers with that 100 thou shave and deck the block ,,, cam..balance and bore 30 tho over(piston) you will be saying bye bye to those civics.
I had this setup on my TR250. Had a friend with a 1967 Shelby GT 500 Mustang that had a 428 dual 4 barrel setup with auto tranny. At a stop light I would leave him sitting at the stop light smoking his tyres. So we tried a little race at 40mph roll...he got half a car length ahead at the begining...the 250 stayed with him until 90mph where we both shut down for the next light. This is just to give you an idea of what the TR6 engine can do and very streetable every day use.
I used 87 tho shims under the rocker arm post assembly (put a oil hole in one of them) to keep the geometry right with the push rods. It was fairly easy to keep the webers in unisen. I have taken the 250 to 145 mph,,,but pretty scary with a soft top needless to say(had the A type overdrive). The engine would have power all the way up to 6800 rpm or 7000 if not looking....
Note...I only took off 87 thousands off the head. I didn't have any over heating problems using stock radiator. I had some cam grind but don't remember spec's. At idle ..the car would have a little rocking to it from the cam. This is how I could tell if I was out of tune if it didn't have the nice rocking feeling. The most I would do is check point gap and get the unisen gage out and check the air flow intake was even across the webers.
Cheers and good luck.
PS. Civic's with be seeing the back end of my 74 TR6 shrinking before their eyes. I'm doing lots of mods on it with a stock 2002 LS1 FI all aluminum V8 with a 6 speed tranny(320 to 345hp). I will get 26 to 30 miles per gallon. At 70 MPH the engine will be about 1700 rpm in 6th gear.
If interested to see mods check out BritishV8.org.. go into forums under triumph cars under "Another member saying hi!". Using alot of Gparts in the mods.
