Poly bushing upgrade well worth the cheap cost!

Just got done doing the fully polyurethane bushing upgrade up front on my 1954 TF along with all new brakes all the way around. After a lot of crap dealing with the brakes and shitty broken and stripped bolts from other people working on the car before I got it, its all done now.

Car handles much better, less slop in the wheel when cornering and less wobble as well. For the cheap price and simple install this is a must upgrade for any T series car if you ask me.

Agreed!  Those old rubber bushings don't last very long, allowing moving parts to wobble on their rotational axis.

To really get that steering feeling like new, replace the two felt bushings at the upper and lower ends of the steering column (Moss catalog, p.21, items 13, 14).  Presoak the new felt pieces in oil for a day or two before installation.  If the steering wheel can be wiggled left-right, up-down a bit and feels loose inside the column tubing, the old felt pads have worn away.  Use a curved pick to pull out - install the pads.  Inexpensive ($16) and a straight-forward DIY project.

Thanks for the heads up on that. The steering is a bit loose going side to side. I figured its more likely a worn rack then anything else. But for the price of $16 I will for sure do that next.
