    electrical problem

    Hello,

    I have a problem with my 1964 MG1100 which has same engine as a classic mini (998cc).

    While driving, my headlamps faded for a second then lighted on again. Since this time, my rear and interior lamps do not work anymore.

    I founded a blown fuse located under the dashboard which I replaced solving the rear lamps problem, but not the interior lamps.

    I tested the bulbs, they are all ok.

    Do you think it could be the flash unit ?  a multi use relay ? the control box ?

    Look for harness damage wherever it routs through, or rubs up against the chassis.

    When your headlights dimmed, that was probably due to a wire shorting to ground and drawing a huge amount of current. They came back on when the wire finally burned all the way through.

    Apparently, this wire must be the one that delivers current to your interior lights.

    On their death bed, nobody ever said, "Gee I wish I'd spent more time at work!"

    Good advice from davey...light go dim blown fuse and a dead int lamp does sound like a harness issue! start @ the lamp and work back in stages until you find a 12v feed!
