Exactly where is the scuttle? is it the cowl? there is a plate on the drivers side at the top of the cowl just under the bonnet but it does not seem to have enough numbers

    Re: Where is my VIN

The number stamped on the plate attached to the cowl on the drivers side(LHD) is your body number. The VIN is stamped on the big plate which should be attached to the cowl on the other side beside the wiper motor. The chassis number should also be stamped on the LH frame rail near the engine mount. I am still looking for mine there. Depends how clean your car is. Your engine number is stamped on the block above the oil filter on the RHS of the engine.
