James2:Hello Oz, I don't have a Mini but I have a Mini engine the classic 1275. I would like some more info on this engine can I still buy a new 1275cc in the U.K. and was this engine used up until 2000 in the Austin Mini? I really love the 1275cc they don't have that much power but are very strong!
Hi James2
Thanks for being the first to post
yes you can still buy new engines in the UK at present, However the later cars after 1990 changed to the SPI and then 1996 onwards to the MPI. What you would need is the A series engine and not an A+
Its quite easy to get the A series engine over the 100bhp mark without to much money being spent! Or you could always go the easy route and bolt on a blower
Hope this has answered your questions.
