let's say you could insure your '53 with an out-of-state company, and let's say you really don't drive the car much, except on special ocassions and Car Shows, and for example, whenever you feel like driving it!! (but you don't tell them THAT!), and let's say you have a good driving record, (because they are going to investigate your record), and let's say that you are not prejudiced, (haaaa!):

OK, I found a company based in Puerto Rico (USA), doing business in Florida. (they are expanding to the mainland US). It's mostly a family business, the Hernandez family to be exact; 3 brothers run the Central Florida offices. One of the brothers, Luis, is a car freak, so he understands.

I got a policy for my '65 Jaguar for 12 months, with collision and comprehensive, uninsured motorist, and PIP (Personal Injury Policy) for $189.00, (one-hundred-eighty-nine dollars) based on the same conditions as I detailed above. 12 months. This does not mean you will get the same price, there's a lot of variables, like age, etc., etc. But worth a try.

If you want a better deal, then you'll have to open your own Insurance Company. If you want the name of the company here it is in Spanish:

-Cooperativa De Seguros Multiples De Puerto Rico-

the name translates to: Multiple Insurance Coop of Puerto Rico. They offer all kinds of insurance, and are registered with the Secretary of State

in Puerto Rico and Florida. They are an old company. I did not check their Rating, because I know that to do business in Florida, they must be rated at a minimum of "AA". That means they have the Standing and Reputation to conduct business professionally.

If you want to get a quote, call Luis Hernandez at (407) 438-3496

The Spanish babe will answer the phone and she will tell you Luis is busy,

(unless you get lucky and he's not) so just leave a message, Luis is busy because everyone wants to insure with them.

When you do talk to Luis, tell him Jose gave you his number, maybe I'll earn a rebate or something! Good luck!

Jose

I am contimplating replacing the wood dash board. I am concerned that once I unscrew the tap srews and try to pull the dash board away from the car, I will run into all sorts of problems with the dials and switches.

Any advice on this?

Or am I better off refinishing the present dash board in place?

Thanks

Several months ago the tranny began to go into "limp mode" when I started out in the mornings. It would then shift properly during day. Recently it has gone more often into limp mode and when I let it sit up with windows closed during day, hot temps cause it to shift correctly. But it continues to return to limp mode after it cools down. Has anyone experienced this before? What's up?
